Range Rules
How you as a member or visitor on the range are expected to behave. Ignore these and you will have your shooting rights revoked, for at LEAST one day.


1. No loaded Firearms are to be taken onto or out of the Range. The ONLY place for a loaded firearm is within a shooting bay, pointed downrange!

2. No Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs allowed on the Range. Whilst you're welcome to have a drink afterwards, all people on the range MUST have a BAC of zero!

3. All shooters must produce valid photo ID (Drivers Licence, Shooters Licence etc.) or two forms of non photo ID (Medicare card and credit card) and sign the Range Attendance Register before entering the range. By so doing you confirm that you have read and understood the Range Rules and agree to be bound by them.

4. By signing the Register you Declare that you have not been charged with: Drug offences, Violence or threatened use of Violence, Firearms offences in the last 5 Years, and that you have no Mental Illness or Domestic Violence Orders.

5. Visitors to the range who are 17 years old or less must be accompanied by a member parent or legal guardian, and said guardian must sign their permission before shooting commences.

6. Eye and Ear Protection must be worn at all times whilst on the range unless directly notified by a range officer that it is safe to remove them. When leaving the Range, do not remove eye & ear protection until you are outside both Exit Doors.

7. No smoking, eating or drinking on the Range.

8. Holsters may only be used by people wearing Holster Competency cards.

9. Only 1 person to shoot at any one time in each bay. (Only 1 gun at any time.)

10. Load and unload firearms inside the shooting bay only. (Not behind the line.)

11. Keep firearms always pointing down range, whilst loading, unloading and shooting.

12. Never pass your firearm from one person to another. Always place the firearm on the bench, step back and let the other person pick it up from there.

13. Prior to leaving the range, always switch on the Range Officer call system and wait for the Range Officer to clear your firearm. Never remove a firearm from the firing line without having that firearm cleared by a Range Officer.

14. If your firearm malfunctions, or you require the Range Officer's assistance for any reason, press the Range Officer call system and the Range Officer will be with you shortly.

15. Club guns must be used with our ammunition only, for insurance reasons.

16. You cannot take our brass (spent cartridges) from the range.

17. Under no circumstances are pregnant women allowed inside the Range.

18. Enclosed footwear MUST be worn by all people on the Range.

19. Shoot only at your own target, not at other people's targets, also do not shoot at any Range sign, light or anything on the Range floor.

20. Guns can only be removed from range bags at the firing line. Range bags can then be placed against the back wall. Similarly, guns can only be placed in range bags at the firing line, not behind it.

21. Range Officers have total control of this range, and their instructions MUST be obeyed. Failure to follow Range Officer instructions will result in the Person being removed from the premises. Remember these rules are for your safety as well as other range users.

22. Exit the Range from the EXIT door only, not the EMERGENCY EXIT door except in the event of an Emergency.

23. Place your old targets and ammunition boxes in the labelled rubbish bins provided when leaving the Range. Targets in particular must be placed in the labelled bin only.

24. Mobile phones must be turned off prior to entering the range.

25. Hands must be washed upon leaving the range to remove any lead residue.
